Product Introduction
Containers can be stacked dozens of layers high on ocean-going vessels for long-distance shipping and transported at high speeds on highways, all secured firmly by twist lock lashing hardware.
All container securing accessories rely on ISO 1160 standard corner castings. Lifting corner fittings are installed on four corners of every container, acting as the connection base for all twist locks and lashing equipment.
Twist locks are the core connecting hardware for container lashing, an indispensable fixture for safe container stacking. This model is the CF-1 Manual Split Bottom Rotating Twist Lock.
Working Principle of Intermediate Twist Locks
Insert the lock head into the oval hole of container corner casting, then rotate the operating lever to turn the locking pawls roughly 90 degrees. The pawls will fasten onto the inner wall of the corner casting to form a rigid, stable connection.
Core Functions
Connect upper and lower stacked containers, or fasten containers to stacking bases. Effectively prevent horizontal sliding and container overturning during sea transit and road haulage.
Structural Details
- Fine Details: Symmetric dual locking pawls (guide heads) on the lock head; integrated handle for manual rotation operation.
- Overall Structure: Compact fist-sized metal component. Tapered guide pawls on the top, main lock body in the middle, and an operating handle attached to the lock housing.
Locked Position
Pawls (guide heads) rotate 90° perpendicular to the lock body, tightly clamping the edge of the corner casting hole for solid fixation.
Unlocked Position
Pawls (guide heads) stay parallel to the lock body, allowing free insertion and removal from container corner castings.
Manual Operation Steps
- Place the twist lock onto the target corner casting in advance.
- Lower the upper container to align its corner fittings with the lock head.
- Rotate the handle to fully lock the twist lock.
- Before unloading, reverse the handle rotation to release and unlock the lock.
