CG-1 Semi-Automatic Bottom Rotating Twist Lock
Product Description
Container lashing twist locks are indispensable hardware for safe container stacking and interlayer fixation.
Containers can be stacked over ten layers high on ocean-going cargo ships and transported at high speeds along highways, all stabilized and firmly secured by heavy-duty twist locks.
Twist locks act as the core connecting fitting of all container securing systems. Our featured model here is the CG-1 Semi-Automatic Bottom Rotating Twist Lock.
Core Function
It creates rigid linkage between upper and lower stacked containers, or fastens containers to stacking bases, effectively eliminating lateral sliding and container overturning during marine transit and land haulage.
Working Principle
Insert the lock head into the oval hole of container corner casting. Rotate the pawls roughly 90 degrees to latch onto the inner wall of the corner casting, forming a solid rigid connection.
Structural Details
- Overall Structure: Compact fist-sized metal component. Tapered guide head on the top, central lock body, and an integrated operating handle attached to the lock housing.
- Fine Design: The lock head is equipped with two symmetrical locking pawls controlled by the rotating handle. The top cone surface of this semi-automatic twist lock features a 5° inclined angle, which triggers automatic locking via the dead weight of the upper container.
Two Working States
-
Unlocked Position
Locking pawls stay parallel to the lock body, allowing free insertion and removal from container corner castings.
-
Locked Position
Pawls rotate 90° to sit perpendicular to the lock body, tightly clamping the rim of corner casting holes for stable fixation.
Semi-Automatic Operation Steps
- Lower the upper container: The container’s self-weight pushes the inclined cone to rotate the pawls and lock the twist lock automatically.
- Unloading procedure: Pull the attached cable to release the lock, then lift away the container, and the twist lock will reset to unlocked status automatically.
